Blackbird Poet Selected for Best American Poetry

Sherman Alexie, this year’s guest editor of The Best American Poetry, selected Sidney Wade’s poem “The Chickasaw Trees” (Blackbird v13n1) for inclusion in the ​2015 edition ​​to ​be published by Scribner this​ September.

the college of humanities and sciences has introduced a new website, vcu.academicworks.com, with information and an online application process for the over 100 scholarship opportunities we offer to currently enrolled students. the system features a searchable database of opportunities and details the requirements for each. this system will offer a more student-centric experience, streamlines our administrative and fiscal managements of scholarships, and allows us to improve stewardship of our donors who invest in our students.
