Announcing the VCU 2018-19 Visiting Writers Series

We are pleased to announce an exciting and award-winning line up for our 2018-19 Visiting Writers Series!  This year's reading series includes such authors as:

  • Kaveh Akhbar
  • Hernan Diaz
  • VCU alums Tarfia Faizullah & Kevin Powers
  • Yiyun Li
  • Ada Limon
  • Sarah Viren
  • Jesse van Eerden
  • and Clint McCown

All VWS events are free and open to the public. The series is sponsored by the Department of English of the VCU College of Humanities and Sciences and the Graduate Writers’ Association, with additional funding made possible through the generosity of VCU Libraries, Barnes & Noble @ VCU Bookstore, and the family of Larry Levis.

British Virginia is a VCU-hosted series of scholarly editions of documents touching on the colony. These texts range from the 16th and 17th-century literature of English exploration to the 19th-century writing of loyalists and other Virginians who continued to identify with Great Britain. Editions appear principally in digital form, freely downloadable.
