Mary Caton Lingold Selected for Summer 2019 Faculty Success Program

May 23, 2019

Professor Mary Caton Lingold was one of seven VCU faculty members selected to participate in the Faculty Success Program from the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity. The Faculty Success Program (FSP) helps faculty members learn the secrets to increasing research productivity, getting control of their time, and living a full and healthy life beyond their campus.

Professor Lingold commented:

I am excited to participate in FSP while deep in the process of writing my first book. The program infrastructure is incredible for tracking and maximizing productivity and I hope to make the most out of the opportunity to write and research intensively this summer. As mother of a small child, I also look forward to connecting with other parents who are early career scholars as we learn to develop strategies for thriving in both our personal and professional lives. I've heard such wonderful things from fellow faculty about the program. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity.

Lingold's research, featured in VCU News, may have proven the identity of the world’s first black published composer.
